These are the plain-language terms for using Folklore Skies, our iPhone weather app. By downloading or using the app you agree to them.

Your licence

Folklore Skies is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). The Apple EULA governs your use of the app; these terms add a few details specific to Folklore Skies. If anything here conflicts with the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA wins.

Purchases

The app and any extra themes you unlock inside it are sold through the App Store. Apple processes every payment, and refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. Theme unlocks are one-time purchases tied to your Apple Account; you can restore them on your other devices with Restore Purchases in the app’s Settings.

Weather data

Forecasts and conditions are provided by Apple Weather. See Apple Weather’s data sources and attribution.

Forecasts are for general information only. They can be wrong, late or unavailable, and the painted scenes are an artistic interpretation of the forecast, not a warning system. Don’t rely on Folklore Skies for decisions that affect your safety, your health or your property. For severe weather, follow your national weather service and local authorities.

The folklore

The characters and stories in the app are our own retellings of traditional, public-domain folklore and mythology from the British Isles, Scandinavia, China and elsewhere. They are offered in a spirit of respect and fun, not as scholarship or religious instruction. The app’s artwork, text and code belong to Caveman Tech LLC.

Privacy

We don’t collect any personal data. Our Privacy Policy explains what the app uses and where it goes.

Warranty and liability

The app is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those in the Apple EULA, and we aren’t liable for losses that come from using, or being unable to use, the app or its forecasts. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be waived.

Changes

If these terms change, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
